1. What do I need to do to place a bid?

Before you can bid with Bidding Ninja, we require that you place a deposit via PayPal or bank transfer to our Japanese bank account. When placing a bid, we will place a temporary hold on half (50%) of your bid value. This means that if you deposit 5,000 JPY into your account, you can bid to a maximum of 10,000 JPY. In the case that your bid is not sucessful, or you are outbid by someone else, these funds will be returned to your account immediatley. If you check out our screen shot "How to bid", this video will run you through the bidding process.

2. Can I get my deposit back if I decide not to buy anymore?

If you are unsuccessful with any of our auctions and wish to have your funds returned to you, you can go to "My Account and click on "Request Refund". If applying for a refund within 55 days of the original PayPal payment, the refund amount and all PayPal fees will be returned to you (this includes partial fees for partial refund amounts). 3. How much does Bidding Ninja charge?

The Bidding Ninja only charges a small fee when you win an auction. Unlike other companies, we have kept our fees as simple as possible. In most cases, Bidding Ninja will only charge you the cost of the item, international shipping to your door and a fee based on the bid price of each successful item. Inside the fee we charge, we cover the first 1,500yen of Japanese domestic freight to get your item delivered to our workshop. In the case of large or very heavy items (e.g. wheels, bumpers, gearboxes, diffs, etc.) Bidding Ninja will charge the excess freight exceeding the initial 1,500yen. For more information on our fee structure click here.

4. Are there any auctions I need to be cautious about?

There are a few auctions that you need to be careful of especially in the motor vehicle categories. These auctions can be broken down into three categories:-

AUCTIONS SELLING INFORMATION OR A SERVICE - Some auctions sell information or data related to products. A common example of this would be an auction that shows a picture of a set of R34 Skyline LED tail lights with a 2,500yen buy it now price. More often that not, this auction will supply you with the instructions on how to convert your R34 tail lights into an LED set up. Please read the title and description carefully as you will quite often see the words "DIY" (do it yourself).

AUCTIONS SELLING ITEMS ON EXCHANGE - Some auctions sell items under an exchange only basis. This is quite common with alternators, starter motors, AC pumps, PS pumps, etc. The seller will only ship the item once you have sent the replacement item first. An easy way to detect an exchange only auctions is to look for words in the title or description like "necessary trade", "core for return" or "rebuilt item". Unless you are prepared to ship your exchange item to us in Japan first, please avoid bidding on these auctions.

AUCTIONS WITH QUANTITY REQUIREMENTS - These are auctions that show an item displayed in quantity, but the auction price is for one single unit only. An example would be a set of brand new Nismo fuel injectors displayed as a set of four with a price tag of 12,000yen. In this case you have to multiply the 12,000yen purchase price by the number of injectors that you require. The fact that you would never get a set of four brand new Nismo injectors for 12,000yen is a dead giveaway though!
